Enrollment Information

Families that would like their child to join our preschool community may begin with enrollment inquiries here on our website to learn more information. Next, should you wish to secure a spot on our waitlist, you can proceed by paying the non-refundable enrollment fee and scheduling a tour during the calendar tour dates. We encourage all parents of prospective students to visit the Nest Community School. Choosing the right school is important for both parents and children, and deserves thoughtful consideration. During your tour, you will have an opportunity to see set up class activities that are typical for your child’s age, explore the classrooms, ask questions and hear more about our school. Tours will take place outside of school hours so the staff hosting the tours can give you their full attention and thoughtful answers to your questions. This will give you the most complete picture of our curriculum and our philosophy as well as meeting our director. During this time we will introduce you to the environment and our teaching practices.

Our Enrollment Period and Waitlist

Every year, during the summer, we will have children that are ready to graduate and leave our community to begin their kindergarten adventures! When a child leaves their spot in preschool, we will give that spot to the next child on the waitlist. Each September, we will reliably have a handful of spots open for new children to enroll. We will begin filling these enrollment spots in the spring before our graduates leave. When a family wants to have their child’s spot held on the waitlist for the next available spot, they must pay the enrollment fee which ensures their interest in the program. The waitlist operates on a first come first serve basis to ensure fairness. Spots will sometimes become available throughout the year (if a child moves away or leaves for another reason) and families on the waitlist will be contacted in their order on the list to be offered the open spot.

Enrollment Process

If you wish to enroll your child in the Nest Community School, the following are the steps to begin that process:

  1. Pay enrollment fee of $150 online to secure your child’s spot on the waiting list for open available spots. The enrollment fee is an annual, non-refundable fee which secures a spot on the waitlist and pays staff for tours and new child preparation tasks. Families may tour and make inquiries before paying the enrollment fee, but your child’s spot on the wait list will only be held when the enrollment fee has been paid. This helps us keep track of our waitlist as enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. Choose a spring or summer tour that best fits your schedule. Upcoming tour dates will be available on our website and social media pages.

  2. Attend the tour to learn more about the Nest Community School to ask questions and find out if we are a good fit for your family. Next tour dates listed above!

  3. Plan with the director and admin team when your child will start school based on available spots and child’s readiness.

  4. Sign up for Brightwheel, our preschool app, where you will fill out enrollment paperwork, read our handbook and plan a visit day for your child.

  5. Prepare for your child’s orientation meeting and first day!

Enrollment Tours

We host tours throughout the school year for families on the waitlist and those curious about enrolling their child at the Nest. During classroom tours, inquiring families will meet in a group with the director outside of regular school hours, to see the classroom environment, learn about our program philosophy and policies as well as ask questions.

Our normal enrollment process will take place before the new school year starting September 1st. Newly enrolled children will complete the enrollment process and will usually begin in September. If a spot becomes available during the middle of the year, we will reach out to families on the waitlist to see if they are interested in taking the spot early.
